Demographic change and socioeconomic consequences
Demographic change and socioeconomic consequences
Samenvatting
The second demographic transition is all around. However, in certain regions in the Northern Netherlands the aging of the population is accelerated as a result of unbalanced population decline. Even though sometimes population in these declining areas increases, caused by temporary development (shortage on the housing market, COVID), longterm trends are still showing a constant declining of the population. What are the socioeconomic consequences of decades of unbalanced population decline?
