Samenvatting

Prof. Dr. Rineke Smilde and René van Munster have been invited to present the music practices developed by the research group Lifelong Learning in Music in the field of music and health care to students and invited guests of the Royal Academy of Music Arhus (Denmark). Among the invited guests are policy makers and researchers working in the health care field from local government, the health care sector, universities and universities of applied sciences. Rineke Smilde’s presentation will discuss practice-based research into person-centred musical improvisation for people with dementia and (mostly) elderly patients and their carers in hospitals. In addition, René van Munster will work with students from the Royal Academy of Music and the members of the audience so they can experience how person-centred musical improvisation works in practice.
