Samenvatting

In this investigation the effect of a reward system on the internal motivation to play sports is measured in the hostel of Tactus Drug Rehabilitation. The investigation arised from a disappointing attendance at the sports.
In the theoretical background several theories and studies are discussed. One of the studies is positive towards the use of a reward to influence the motivation, while the other refuses this. The intervention can be originated from the CRA-method, which uses positive reinforces to establish a behavioral change.
The investigation consists of several stages. It starts with people taking the BREQ-2, a list of questions that calculates the internal motivation towards sports. Next, an intervention is applied, namely the introduction of a reward system. Two and eight weeks after the introduction, BREQ-2 is taken again. The comparising of the outcomes (T1, T2, T3) of the lists show the results.
The results of this investigation are little significant, so clear statements are difficult to make. The intervention do not show an increase in internal motivation. The outcome brings this investigation to the following null hypothesis: "A reward system does not result to an increase of the internal motivation in chronic drugs addicted people to play sports."
