Core Vocabulary Therapy bij een kind met een inconsistente fonologische stoornis
Samenvatting
A lot of children have speech sound disorders, according to an inventory study 90% of the clients in speech therapists practices have articulation problems. Articulation difficulties can be differentiated into verbal oral-motor disorders, phonetic disorders, consistent and inconsistent phonological disorders. The last category named is discussed in this article. This single case study evaluates an intervention approach for inconsistent phonological speech difficulties. An approach for the treatment of inconsistent phonological speech disorders is Core Vocabulary Therapy (CVT). The effects of CVT on a 4 year old child with severe phonological difficulties will be described in this study. Pre- and post-intervention measures shows that J. made an improvement on raw scores, although she did not make a significant progress. However, the progress that has been made might be a first step to achieve consistent speech.
