Balance training versus stretching in fall prevention
Balance training versus stretching in fall prevention
Samenvatting
This systematic review was conducted to find out whether balance training or a stretching program is more effective in improving the gait pattern and reducing the risk of falling en elderly people. This objective could not be answered directly. There is not sufficient evidence regarding the reduction of risk of falling for balance training, but there is sufficient evidence for a stretching program to reduce the risk of falling.
More research is needed to investigate, which of the two interventions is more effective in improving the gait pattern and reducing the risk of falling.
