This report follows the development of an improved character creation pipeline for the 3D simulators of the company VSTEP.
The company 's intention was to improve the pipeline in order to expand their current character library in a more timely manner. There were also certain needs involved: the clients on the company noted that they would like more diversity in the character cast, and the engine and application particularities set limitations and technical requirements.
By analysing the current pipeline of the company, their resources, the industry standard and potential automation tools, a new pipeline was conceptualized. Iterative testing on two main character generation applications proved that the pipeline could be automated further with their use. Ultimately, the application most beneficial to the company 's needs was chosen.
A pipeline guide was documented following how to use it along with all the steps necessary to complete the character as an asset in the company 's application. Templates were created where possible and necessary to make the process more efficient.
