Samenvatting

This research provides a solid overview of solutions that can be applied to any medium-sized town in The Netherlands in order to reduce shop vacancy. Additionally, main causes of shop vacancy and mediating factors influencing the improvement process have become clear. The methodology used is a case study, whereby six cases, being local governments of Dutch medium-sized towns, have been analysed.
