a case study in Bal’ad district, SomaliaSamenvatting
Floods are a recurring problem in Somalia, especially in Bal'ad district, affecting the community, especially women farmers. Floods disrupt livelihoods by damaging agricultural land, displacing people and causing food shortages and financial losses. Women farmers face vulnerabilities due to limited resources, gender inequality and inadequate government support. Current methods have limitations. This study examined the effects of flooding on smallholder farmers in Bal'ad. Recommendations include improving infrastructure, disaster preparedness and livelihood strategies through collaboration between stakeholders such as government agencies, NGOs and farmer associations.
