a case study in Taleh District, Sool, SomaliaSamenvatting
In recent years, Somalia has experienced recurrences of droughts, which are exacerbated by two reasons. First, most parts of the country are naturally arid and semi-arid lands, which experience frequent droughts. Second, climate change has contributed to increased incidences of prolonged droughts, whose impacts are exacerbated by a lack of proper national disaster management and forecasting. The key objective of this study was to assess the effects of drought on the livelihoods of smallholder onion farmers in the Taleh district and their adaptation strategies.
