In this literature research is described or there is a connection between the central treatment and accompaniment themes for men with a cerebrovasculair accident (CVA), and compared with the treatment and accompaniment themes that are handled within the Psychomotor Therapy (PMT).
The possible given treatment, based on the recovery phases (Stokman & Verhoeff, 2011) for men with a CVA, are describing the treatment purposes within these phases. These treatment purposes will be clarified and described by articles, books and research.
Beside this information about the possible recovery route of a CVA patient, will be explained which position PMT takes, on this moment, in this recovery route, by articles, research and books.
This information about the recovery phases, treatment purposes and the position of PMT within this recovery phases, will be compared based on agreements of treatment and accompaniment themes. This comparison concludes that mainly within the rehabilitation phase and the chronic phase of a CVA patient the treatment purposes, connected to the central treatment and handled within PMT, are being applied.
Further research can be focussed on the effects of PMT within the rehabilitation phase and the chronic phase of men with a CVA.
